Loved this book along with The Funeral Singer! Can't wait for number 3!
This is a very entertaining and well-written novel, and Em/Em is such a great main character! She is humorous with an interesting and mysterious backstory.
I sat down to begin this book, and unfortunately (or fortunately) did not put it down until I finished it. Just like her last book, Em and Em is a page turner. Linda does a phenomenal job of weaving a story of romance, mystery, and drama while even shedding light on modern-day issues. The dialogue is realistic, and the chapters short which makes saying "just one more" that much easier. This is a must read!
Great book that addresses identity and growing up.
I'll say up front that I'm not into romances. But, I knew this writer could tell a good story and she didn't disappoint. The plot pulled me along and the main character was likable even though seriously flawed. I especially liked how she discovered her own shortcomings through helping others. A good read.
Such a great story! I love Em—both versions—and was cheering for her throughout the whole book.
This was one of those books that made me smile on almost every page. I actually took longer to finish the book because I didn't want it to be over. I love the premise of a girl in the witness protection program-not only did it have me guessing the whole time about what had happened to put her there, it made for a super interesting story. Ember couldn't be totally genuine with her new friends no mater how much she wanted to, and trust me, you're going to love Charles. There was a heartbreaking back and forth where Ember really liked Charles but Emily (her real self) still had a boyfriend back home. I rooted for Charles the entire time because this boy is charming, hot, sweet, and perfect for Em!

Not only was this a sweet and perfect love story, the drama with the crime she witnessed was really well done. I LOVED the anguish she felt over being ridiculed and slut-shamed. As bad as that sounds, these kinds of books need to be told, girls need to read them, and know that they aren't defined by what other people say.
